Nothing makes me happier currently than an Autumnal walk at the moment, it gets me feeling all snuggly warm in my coat and hat (as well as warm on the inside!) and it fills me with such joy experiencing the sharp crispness of the drop in temperature as the sunshine comes through the trees and feeling at one with nature in all her beauty.
Earlier this year I went on an amazing digital detox retreat with Swinton estates staying in a tree lodge and taking part in lots of mindfulness activities. I decided to bring the family on a woodland walk to show them where I stayed and how beautiful the views are in this area of Yorkshire. I also managed in my uniquely scatterbrained way to leave my wellies behind last time I stayed so got to pick them up too bonus!!
Donning our hiking boots off we went to explore and get muddy. The forest was as stunning as I remember and as the smell of fresh pine filled our nostrils I showed the clan all of the places we walked on the retreat and the Druid’s temple. We took a picnic and ate in the forest alongside the spectacular views.
Sunday 21st to Tuesday 23rd June 2020 is Swinton Bivouac’s next retreat am so tempted to go along and switch off from the outside world again! For more information contact them here:
