This November we are really eager to go down the rabbit hole and enter the enchanted light festival trail going on at theme park Lightwater Valley, Ripon. Nearby Ripon is believed to be a major influence on world renowned author Lewis Carroll, creator of Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the looking glass. Hundreds of giant illuminated sculptures will illustrate the stories while families can also enjoy traditional fairground rides including a spin on a carousel and take to the night sky on the Skyrider! The trail will lead guests through illuminated characters, mushrooms, tulips and even a flamingo or two. And see if you can spot the chessboard and maybe have a photo with a four metre tall Alice lantern!Watch out for the Queen or it’ll be ‘off with your head!’
For smaller children the indoor play area and young fun rides will be open (please note the main rides won’t be in operation) and there will be a chance to purchase food and drink and a seasonal glass of something festive for mums and dads!
Alice in winterland will be taking place Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 22nd November-15th December and then Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 20th-30th December so plenty of dates to catch it! Doors open at 4pm with last entry at 7pm (think we will probably take a picnic in the car and drive from school pick up) As the nights are getting colder dressing warmly is of course encouraged. We are working in partnership with Lightwater Valley to promote this event and have been kindly gifted the tickets.
