The North Yorkshire County show is a large traditional agricultural show and is based near Bedale North Yorkshire. At £35 per family and free parking there is plenty to do all day to keep everyone entertained from animal parades to fun fair rides and attractions. Not to mention the many individual businesses offering a taste of Yorkshire, and there were some delicious Yorkshire treats to sample..it was impossible to choose. Tasted some lovely bakery items from this stall and had amazing friendly service! Loved the oaty biscuits only £1 for 5 and really tasty too. Also tried some delicious fruity flapjack and some Indian Pakoras and Samosas as well as some pork scratchings (Husbands favourite!) The cheese stall was really enticing and accompanying chutneys with a bit of spice really tempted me ( I love cheese and crackers!) I love how chatty all of the stall holders were and made you feel part of the atmosphere. Yorkshire ( I may be biased) is always a warm and friendly place and this was no exception.
Mason’s gin was on hand and my favourite had to be the peppered pear which was lush! I also loved sampling sausages and some delicious whipped cream honey! The tents were filled with crafts and delicious foods and everyone was happy to talk to the kids and answer questions. There were lots of competitions going on including arts, crafts, egg competitions and animal shows.
There were some amazing classic cars and tractors of all ages! We loved walking through the fur and feather tents and there were so many varieties of chickens and rabbits to see not to mention guinea pigs, alpacas, sheep, horses and cows to see whilst we were walking around the show. I can never resist my favourite tea and the Yorkshire tea van set me up ‘good and proper’ as they say in these parts! The show area entertained us with pig racing, meeting the hounds (humane fox hunting with clay pigeon shooting no fox harming) and an amazing motorbike demonstration.
