Manic Mum days reviews

Serenity only use high quality products in all their treatments… Ishga and Temple Spa items are available to purchase after your treatments

After a morning of reading in peace (doesn’t happen often I hear you cry) and some steam room, sauna-ing and hot tub lazing we were ready to don the robes and try out the lunch menu. Our two-course lunch was part of our day package (see Serenity facebook/website for more info) and restaurant Ozone did not disappoint. The restaurant advertises itself as an authentic Pan-Asian dining experience. I personally love the fact its unique and doesn’t just offer the usual meals and afternoon tea expected of spa days I have experienced before.

Vietnamese style crispy Tofu Bao

I opted for a starter of Vietnamese style crispy Tofu Bao (£8.50): Crisp fried tofu layered with pickled cucumber sweet chilli and pickled daikon. It was superb and freshly made in front of us. For main I chose Japanese-style Yahi Soba (£16.00): Soba noodles stir fried with onions, spring onions and served with steamed pak choi and sesame seeds, served with king prawns.

Japanese-style Yahi Soba

After a wonderful meal I enjoyed an alcohol free cocktail which was lovely and reviving. I opted for T-totally rhubarb ( non alcoholic G and T, rhubarb juice and gomme syrup) and my friend chose Green tea punch ( elderflower, green tea soda and lime) All day we had access to fruit infused water which was great for keeping ourselves hydrated (must make it more at home) and then the rest of the afternoon I read some of the magazines which were on offer and my book. Bliss! The main pool at Seaham was lovely and warm and managed to get a few lengths in too to burn off the lunch!

Serenity spa, thank you for showing me and my lovely friend some peace on a Wednesday… were amazing at it wish we could reunite every week……I’ll pop another date in our diary soon 😉
